WHAT IS A GICLÉE PRINT?

Giclée is a technology for fine art or photograph reproduction using a high quality ink jet printer to make individual copies-captures the essence of original art.

WHAT IS ARCHIVAL PAPER?

Archival paper is museum quality high resolution finished artwork which is also an especially permanent, durable, acid free paper. The artwork is resistant to deterioration or loss of quality, allowing for long life expectancy when kept in controlled conditions.

WHAT IS CORE BOARD?

Core board is a tough art display board that is constructed using rigid foam encased between layers paper fibers. The edging produces a clean ninety degree flat surface with the artwork presented on the front face. I usually print onto 1/2" thick black core board. An additional cost to original print will occur. Custom sizing is available,

WHAT IS A CANVAS WRAPPED EDGE?

An art can be printed on canvas then wrapped over a specific wooden frame leaving part of the printed image on the four edges creating frame.  An additional cost to the original print will occur as well as cost for stretching canvas onto wooden frame.  Custom sizing is available.

HOW IS ARTWORK SOLD & WHAT DO I NEED TO DO FOR PROPER ARTISTIC PRESENTION?

Each gallery archival giclée print has dimensions and pricing stated.  Custom sizing will correlate to your favored size. Smaller sized prints will be less than gallery pricing. Larger sized prints will cost more depending upon desired custom size.  Cost is adjusted with sizing.  Inquire with Kari.

 

PRINTS are sold as archival giclée prints only as described in gallery details. 

  • Watercolor artwork may be professionally matted and framed with non-fade glass. 

  • Oil based art prints may also be matted and framed but Core Board presentation looks better.

  • Any art print may be mounted on Core Board with pre-drilled hanging holes. This does not require extra framing as it presents a clean 1/2' black "frame" edging. There is an additional cost for Core Board mounting.

  • Any art print by be printed onto canvas for an additional cost.  Then you would need to have the canvas professionally wrapped onto wooden frame.  This can be costly.  An art can be printed on canvas then wrapped over a specific wooden frame leaving part of the printed image on the four edges creating frame.  An additional cost to the original print will occur as well as cost for stretching canvas onto wooden frame.  Custom sizing is available.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY ARTWORK?

Until you are ready to matte or frame your art print please handle with clean or gloved hands.  Be careful to not crease4 the print while unrolling.  Weight corners down to regain flat shape.  After print is professionally matted and framed, clean glass with damp soft cloth.  The frame back should be paper sealed to prevent dust from entering inside.  Core board or canvas prints need only dry dusting.

HOW IS ARTWORK SHIPPED?
  • PRINTS only are loosely rolled into cardboard tubing for safe shipping.  Removal requires safe handling with clean hands and prevention of creasing.

  • CORE BOARD and/or Oil based artwork will be supportively boxed and shipped.
